DAKOTA TURNS THE BIG 12!

Dakota turns 12 years old on June 1. Dakota is the youngest of 6 children. His favorite colors are green, red, and blue. Favorite treat is fruit. Dakota's hobbies are football, basketball, and baseball! He loves to hang out with his brother, Chase, and his friends. Dakota's dad and Miss Mitchell went to Junior High and High School together...and, Miss Mitchell's mom taught Dakota's mom in first grade! Miss Mitchell has taught Dakota's aunt, and many of his cousins. Favorite trips have been to California, Disneyland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Lake Powell, and Hawaii! Look for Dakota to play high school, college, and even pro ball!

Dakota and his dad, Brian. Brian played football, basketball, and baseball at American Fork High School. All of these teams won the region championships, and two 2nd places in state basketball, and 1st place in state basketball our senior year! Brian was on the debate team with Miss Mitchell! He also played football at BYU!

GOODBYE TO AN AMAZING MAN

For eight WoNdErFuL years, David Stephenson has been the principal at Alpine Elementary! Mr. Stephenson graduated from Utah State with a master's degree...and we were his first school!
Mr. Stephenson is from Nephi (where my mother is from) and when I told my mother who my new principal was, she said he was somehow related to me, but she didn't know how. Well, my great great grandparents are Mr. Stephenson's great great great grandparents! When he was a little boy, he used to mow my grandma's lawn! The first year was a hard one...he commuted round trip every day from Nephi to Alpine! The next year, he was building a home in Highland, and lived in a trailer park and motel while it was being built!
When you say Mr. Stephenson, you immediately think of his love for each student in our school...it was aMaZiNg that he knew every kid's name! He landscaped our school, and made it a showpiece both inside and out! I was thankful after his first year that he would drive up to attend my father's viewing.
Mr. Stephenson attended Clear Creek eight years with us! He always got in and helped, interacted with the kids, danced, did skits, taught "Uncle Bay", ran the movie, entertained the kid's so the teachers could finish eating...and, made more than one trip to the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon with a sick kid to meet their parents.
Mr. Stephenson is loved, and will be greatly missed! Good luck with your brand new school...Traverse Mountain Elementary, near Cabela's. Don't ever forget us!!!

How could you NOT miss this man?
