Lately, I have seen some hysterical
"Back to School" teacher memes!
And . . . they are soooo true!!!

Utah . . . we stack 'em deep, and teach 'em cheap!!!

And the ever popular donation slip!

WHAT A DIFFERENCE 18 YEARS MAKES!

Chris & Katie are exactly 10 years apart.
Chris . . . 1980  (my 1st year teaching)
Katie . . . 1990

When Katie was baptized,
Chris actually got to baptize her.
Two months later, their family was
sealed in the temple.
The kids told me that Chris was
holding Katie's hand, and when
they walked through the
Marriage Waiting Room,
everyone said, "AWWWWWW."

The next year, Chris & Kim were married.
Kim inherited 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Here's a picture of the girls at
at the Mount Timpanogos Temple.
The arrow is pointing to Katie.

And, 18 years later,
here's Chris & Kim's kiddos with
Katie & CJ at their wedding!
Carter (7 1/2), Camry (11 1/2), Courtney (16 1/2)
Katie (26 1/2), CJ (26 1/2)

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL . . . RETIREMENT LUNCH

Another fabulous first day of school lunch is in the books!
We meet annually at "Blue Lemon" in Highland.
This is the start of year #5 of our monthly lunches!
Some have retired from other schools, but everyone
taught at Alpine Elementary!

Here's our fabulous group, and what they
taught while at Alpine:

Row 1:  Joy Alldredge (Kindergarten), Nancy Pope (3rd),
Cathy Tibbitts (1st, 6th, Mentor to BYU students), Jane Boulter
(2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th)
Row 2:  Karen Peterson (1st, 2nd) this was her first year
of retirement,  Ann Mitchell (5th), Linda Western (1st...and she taught
6th for 1/2 year when John Pool was deployed), Diane Walter
(Reource, 2nd), Loretta Stevens (1st, 2nd, 4th), Mary Sampson
(2nd, 4th, 5th, Reading Recovery), Adonna Iverson (1st),
Diane Durrant (Kindergarten), Vicky Haws (1st . . .later a principal
at Westfield)
And behind Karen, Cheryl Dominguez (4th, 5th, 6th)

It's hard to get everyone together!
We have 2 in NYC (not together), there's
BYU Education Week, and Don & Paige
are on their mission.

Love our monthly lunches!!!

And, me???
YEAR #5 OF RETIREMENT!
I'm really good at this!!!

I'm still on the Board of Directors for
Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. (It's time to
visist high schools in the state in about a month) I have
7 months left as the Utah President of the
teacher sorority for outstanding women
educators.
I was released from the Stake Relief Society
presidency 4 months ago, after serving
for 4 years (That was a great calling, but
it freed up my Sundays!  It was time consuming
with 11 wards, 2 branches, ward conferences,
follow up visits, and Sacrament Meeting speaking assignments).
I'm still busy with season BYU Football tickets,
season Jazz tickets, and, of course,
as a "Stay at Home Aunt!"
