It was a SUPER exciting day!
...and now, for the TILE TOUR!
The tiles by our fountain...after staring at the ginormous blue tiles for 30 years, it was a shock to come today to see these gorgeous tiles!
Snoopy is made of Peanuts comic strips.
This Charlie Brown was a hit with the kids.
Before the big reveal.

The other tile wall by office.
OK...I know you have ALL been waiting to see Miss Mitchell's tile! My Happiness Is tile was (drumroll)...SEASON TICKETS! (If you can't tell, it's a Jazz and a BYU football ticket!)
Wall at west entrance.
Mrs. Johnson gave all the teachers a Snoopy with "Happiness Is...A Warm Puppy!" All of the kids decorated for a badge, and she made them!
Mr. Stephenson looks WAY excited!
Excited to see "Big Budda" of Fox 13 News! We were on a live shot, then, about 20 minutes later, we got to see the rest of the story!
Charles Schulz's grandson has the ribbon cutting honors!
The BIG unveiling!
Having fun being on the news.
Big Budda telling us how much he LOVES Alpine Elementary!
The view of some of our class.
After 60 years, Charlie Brown FINALLY received a valentine!!!
Mr. Francis, our art teacher.
Heather and Carissa show off one of our blankets.
Avery and McKay show off the other blanket.
The "Linus Foundation" was named after the "Peanuts" character, Linus. He's the little boy who always was packing around his blanket! Every class in our school made one or two blankets for the foundation. It's for hospitals, emergency people, police, etc., to give to children who need a comforting blankie! Dakota and his mom made this blanket!
Heather, Logan, Sofy, Avery, Savannah, and Josh (who missed the picture, because he was heading for the cookie!) made this blanket! I had picked up material, and our room mother picked up some other. I gave the "Cars" materials to these kids (because they all have already qualified for the "end-of-month activity"). They went in the hall, followed the directions, figured out how to cut the slits without a seam ripper...all without adult supervision! It took them only 40 minutes to complete it! I am so proud of them!
Cake for the teachers!
