FOR 32 OF THE 33 YEARS THAT I TAUGHT,
I HAD A "MANNERS DAY."
I DID IT THE DAY WE HAD OUR THANKSGIVING LUNCH.
I HAD THE KIDS DRESS UP FOR THE EVENT.
WE LEARNED AND PRACTICED:
PULLING OUT CHAIRS
HELPING ON COATS
OPENING DOORS
INTRODUCING PEOPLE
PLEASE & THANK YOU
ETC.
AND THEN WE ATE OUR LUNCH
IN THE CLASSROOM.
IN THE CLASSROOM.
ONE YEAR, I HAD MY KIDS DO THE
CAR DOORS, WITH MY CAR.
WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR TO GO HOME,
THERE WERE FINGERPRINTS
ALL OVER THE WINDOWS!
FIRST AND LAST TIME WITH THAT!!!
I ALSO GAVE THE STUDENTS A HOMEWORK
ASSIGNMENT OF PRACTICING EVERYTHING
WE LEARNED AT SCHOOL, AT HOME.
THEN, A PARENT HAD TO WRITE A NOTE
SAYING IT WAS DONE.
YOU CAN CHECK OUT ALL OF MY
"MANNERS DAY" ON THE BLOG,
BY CLICKING ON "MANNERS DAY"
UNDER "LABELS."
THE ONLY YEAR I DIDN'T DO MANNERS,
WAS MY LAST YEAR.
OUR ANNUAL THANKSGIVING LUNCH
WAS DONE AWAY WITH! IT WAS TACO
SOUP ON THAT DAY.
IT WOULDN'T BE THE SAME, SO
I GAVE IT UP.
HERE ARE SOME BASIC MANNERS
EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW:
