In the LDS Church (Mormon),
we believe that
Families Are Forever.
This means that a marriage is not
"Till Death Do You Part" but
"For Time and All Eternity."
Doesn't that sound great?!
Ordinances are performed in the
LDS Temples.
These ordinances are:
Baptisms & Confirmations
Initiatories (washings and anointings)
Endowment (the gift from Heavenly Father)
This is about the Creation, Adam & Eve.
About half of the session is a movie.
Sealings (couples)
Sealings (child to parent)
All of these are in the Bible.
A "Temple Worthy" member can perform
these ordinances.
These are done by proxy to someone
who has passed on.
Worthy youth, ages 12-18, can
participate and be the proxies for baptisms.
(girls for female, boys for male)
My great niece, Jaycie, turned 12 in April.
She received a "recommend" from her
bishop and stake president.
This means that her ecclesiastical leaders
are recommending her as one worthy to
enter the House of the Lord.
I was happy to take her for her first time to the
Mount Timpanogos Temple!
How about that blue sky???
