MOTHER NATURE HAS BEEN TICKED OFF THIS YEAR!

The first half of 2010 has been very eventful in the weather department! Earthquakes, flooding, a volcano, tsunamis, lightning storms, snowstorms in May capped off the first half of the year!

Earthquake in Haiti.

Earthquake in Chile.

After the earthquake in Chile, there was a Tsunami warning halfway around the world in the Marshall Islands. My former bishop was mission president there when this happened. The people climbed to the highest point on the island, besides coconut trees, and waited out the warning.

A volcano in Eyjafjallajokull, Iceland, was very disruptive for weeks around the world. Many flights were cancelled because of it.

Tornadoes on the East coast.

This is not a natural disaster, but a man-made one. The British Petroleum (BP) Company had oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, off the Louisiana shore. The platform blew up, killing several workers. It has caused the greatest oil leak/spill ever! The BP cannot figure out how to cap the well to keep the oil from going everywhere.

Monday, May 24, was the last Monday of the school year! Snow is not what you expect! My nephew turned 30 this day. The day he was born, it also snowed...but nothing like this!!!

After the cold and stormy spring, it heated up way too fast! Murray Park was flooded with six feet of water!

Lightning storms on June 6.

Love the rainbows! June 13.
