WITCHES

My great nieces & nephews (and their parents), went to see the Witches at Gardner Village! Great Fun!!! (It's hard to get all 7 kids to look at the camera at the same time!)

Flying Bicycle Witch.

Auntie Ann with all the kids!

Preston-22 mo, Courtney-9, Jaycie-4 1/2, Shayla-3, Haley-22 mo, Cole-5, Camry-4 with the hoola hooping witch! (The 2 youngest kids that are 22 months, are cousins, not twins. They are 5 days apart. They were born on different weeks, different months, AND different years!!! Preston...December 28, 2007 and Haley...January 2, 2008!)

This is what happens to witches who try to text while flying!

WE ARE WINNERS!!!

Our class won the "Box Tops for Education contest at our school! We brought in the most box tops! We were awarded a Root Beer Float party on October 9! Thanks for all your help! Even though the competition is over, you can still send your box tops to school with your child!

OUR CLASS VISITOR

Thomas brought in a caterpillar for our class to watch. The milkweed was in a bowl. Instead of hanging on the milkweed, the caterpillar climbed to the top of the Jazz bulletin board, and became a chrysalis. We watched it closely, and even changed the bulletin board! On Friday, October 9, we had a butterfly! He spent the day drying his wings, and then was let go outside.

HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN!

There are two weeks left before Halloween! This is a HUGE day for the kids! First, all 5th graders will come to school dressed in their U.S. History Wax Museum costume. The Wax Museum will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Students will then give an oral presentation to the class about their person. If they haven't previously turned in their written report, they will also turn that in. Our Halloween party will be from 2:20 - 3:20 p.m. Our FABULOUS room mothers will contact parents for party assignments. If a student wants to wear their Halloween costume, they can change into it at the 2:00 recess. Because this is an "end of month activity", students will still need to meet the requirements. So far, 6 students have qualified. Most just need a couple of SRAs, and 1 or 2 book reports. Because the party is on a Friday, students must also be completed with their "BACK WORK" from the week of October 19-23.
We will also have a "Pumpkin Decorating Contest". This is OPTIONAL! Students who would like to participate, will bring a decorated character pumpkin to school that morning. It CANNOT be carved! Each student who participates will receive a "little something" for their efforts.
After the party, the kids go home and get ready for the REAL Halloween day on Saturday!
