We drove through a coool Christmas light show,

MANNERS

Every third Thursday of November,
we had a real Thanksgiving Dinner for school lunch!
It was the absolute BEST!

To celebrate this day, I taught my kids manners!
I had the kids dress up.
They learned manners, and practiced them.

My last year, on the day that we would normally have
our Thanksgiving lunch, we had taco soup.
One of the problems was that soooooo many parents
came to eat the Thanksgiving lunch with their kids!
The last couple of years, they ran out of food for
the 6th graders.
One year, I got back to my room, and parents
were sitting in other students desks to be near
their kids.  The back table was full, and even
a mother was sitting at my desk!!!
They complained to me about eating in my room.
I told them we were going to practice the manners
we had learned!

Me, and about 5 kids had to stand at the
counter to eat our lunch.

I gave up.

IDENTICAL TWINS

ALLYSON (ALLY) AND BROOKLYN (BROOKY)
ARE IDENTICAL TWINS.

THAT'S ABOUT WHERE IT ENDS.
THEY NEVER DRESS ALIKE, OR HAVE THEIR
HAIR DONE ALIKE.
(THE ONLY TIME I HAVE SEEN THEM DRESSED
ALIKE WAS DANCE RECITALS, SOCCER,
AND KATIE'S WEDDING)
THEY'RE ALSO ALWAYS DIFFERENT FOR HALLOWEEN.

THEY CAME OVER AND SAID,
"LOOK, AUNT ANN . . . WE'RE TWINS!!!"
ALLY GOT BROOKY TO PUT ON MATCHING CLOTHES,
SAME HAIRDO, PANTS, AND SHOES.
SHE ALSO TRIED TO GET BROOKY TO SMILE
JUST LIKE HER!

A CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTY

Lone Peak High School.
The high school that my students go to.
The high school that has won more state championships
in 20 years than anyone else!
(Several each year...golf, tennis, band, soccer, football,
swimming, basketball, etc)

On October 25, I was at Cierra's getting my hair cut.
The salon is on Main Street.
When I walked out, several police cars were racing down
Main Street from west to east, with sirens blaring.
Someone said it was cuz AF girls won state in soccer.
I knew that police wouldn't go that fast for a high school celebration.

Well, Lone Peak was on lockdown.
Yes, that kind of LOCKDOWN!!!
It was reported that a student had a gun.
Students had to stay in their classrooms for a long time.
Then, they all had to patted down, and sent to the gym.

They were given the all clear.  Buses transported the
students to the temple to be picked up by parents.
School let out at the regular time . . .  2:15.
The first round of the state championship in football
was played, and they won.

So . . . what happened???
The report came in that a student had a gun at the high school
in Highland, which is Lone Peak.
It was really Highland High School . . . in Salt Lake City!!!
(And their situation was cleared up)

MAJOR OOPS!

. . . AND 30 YEARS LATER

RETURN

Soooo excited!!!
I hope I'm still alive in 2023!!!

In 1993, I got 3 tickets to go to the
NBA All-Star Practice Session
at the old
Salt Palace!
My brother and his oldest son,
Chris, age 13
(Now one year away from the

Big 4-0), went with me.

Here's who appeared in the 1993 game:

This is my NBA All-Star shirt!
I still wear it!!!
It is now 26 years old, and in
great condition!!!

Look at the players!!!

CO-MVP'S???
First time to have co-mvp's
John & Karl
Are we surprised???

John & Karl each had 6 kids.
John's kids all played college ball.
One son, played for the last half of the
Jazz season!

Karl's son played college football at LSU.
Drafted to Houston Texans, retired because
of bad knees..
Currently a coach at LSU.

One daughter played in the WNBA.
They had a "2 on 2" competition at
the WNBA all star game.
Partner???
She picked her dad!
She has 3 WNBA Championships
and was a 4 time all-star!

No one has a better perm than
Jackie Biskupski, the mayor of
Salt Lake City.
Gail Miller, the other woman, is
the richest woman in the state . . .
a billionaire, just like Kylie Jenner.

NAME THIS BUILDING

Where was this photo taken???
When was this photo taken???
Name this building:

I found this photo on a Facebook group page.
It is a Facebook group called:
"Remembering St. George."

This is a building in St. George.
The name of the building is the:
Dixie Pioneer Memorial Hospital.

The time period is the 1950's.
I was born in this hospital in 1958.
This is what it looked like when I was born.

The hospital was located east, across the street from
the St. George LDS Temple.

When I returned to attend Dixie Jr College in 1976,
it had changed.  They had several different medical offices
inside.  Even a psychiatric ward!

Here are some photos of my birthplace:
When the trees were small.
Did my mom enter these doors to bring me into the world?
Did she come here on October 25?

The trees grew

The back side of the hospital with the temple
and the black "D" mountain in the background

Here's the lobby where she entered

Did she help my mom?
Marie Cottam at the switchboard

I was born here

I was taken to the nursery after I was born,
on October 26, 1958
6:03 in the morning

Was my mom in one of these beds after I was born?

Food for my mom and dad was made in this kitchen

In the laundry, everything was ironed

The cost to be in the hospital
