LOOKS LIKE THIS WILL BE IT . . .

Trump is the last Republican standing.
Bernie Sanders is still hanging in...but,
Hillary is very close to having the
number needed to win.

TEACHER APPRECIATION

A FAVORITE TIME EACH TEACHING YEAR.
SINCE RETIREMENT, I MAKE A $50 DONATION
FOR THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDDOS' TEACHERS!

CADEN

CONGRATULATIONS TO Caden, a gifted, amazing and talented young man.
What an honor to be awarded the John Phillip Sousa Award. This Award is
given to the "Top Bandsman". Caden has been Mr Hendricks right hand man
and INTERN this year conducting many pieces for the Concert Band.
He also earned the EXCELLENCE IN MUSIC AWARD which requires: so many
requirements over 3 years that include superior ratings at State and hours and
hours of musicianship etc etc and an essay. I loved the part of his essay Mr Hendricks shares.
Caden is Pat & Darwin's grandson.

MADAM PRESIDENT

Well, the time has come.
I am now the president of
Alpha Delta Kappa.
This is a sorority for outstanding
women educators.
I have been a member for 21 years.
I decided to become a member to drive
Sydney and Mom to the meetings!
HA!
I have been president-elect for 2 years.
Now, I'm the boss!

On Friday, April 15, we had a dinner at
the Lion House.
Saturday was the convention and
officer installation.
Sunday was the Tab Choir broadcast, and
brunch at the Radisson.
I didn't go to the choir broadcast.
Mom came (out of rehab 1 week) to the brunch.
I figured that was enough.
(I only got pictures on Saturday.)

That's right!  I know where my camera is!!!

I am sooooo in love with my logo!!!
Mom and I came up with the theme last November
of "Dream, Seek, Inspire."
I pinned lots of pics of crayons, apples, pencils, and light bulbs.
Phil Chadwick came up with this logo!
I had business cards printed up, pins made,
and will use it on newsletters and other papers.

GOALS FOR THE 2016-2018 BIENNIUM

Complete offices on Expanded Board

Executive & Expanded Board members attend meetings
(Change-over Brunch + August, January, March)

Recruit 1-2 new members per chapter

Retain current members

Members attend state conventions and conferences

Larger chapters, have newer members serve as
chapter officers

Members attend Founder’s Day Luncheon each October

Members attend regional conference (New Mexico)
and International Convention (New Orleans)

I would like to attend a meeting of each chapter at least once a year for 2 years

This was my first speech as president.
Of course, I was trained in extemporaneous speaking,
just needed an outline.

2016-2018 BIENNIUM THEME
DREAM, SEEK, INSPIRE
(Light bulb)

The national theme:  Inspire, Embrace, Achieve
Through Excellence    I decided to continue . . . but
Starting backwards

Dream:  an aspiration; goal; aim:

Seek:  to go in search or quest of
to try to find or discover by searching or questioning:

Inspire:  to fill or affect with a specified feeling, thought, etc.:
To influence or impel

Synonyms for light:  ablaze, aglow, bright, brilliant,  clear, cloudless, flashing, glowing, illuminate, radiant, resplendent, shiny, sunny, unobscured

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by
a spark from another person.  Each one of us has
cause to think deep gratitude of those who have
lighted the flame within us.

Light bulb:
“You have to find what sparks a light in you so
that you in your own way can illuminate the world.”
