MOM'S DAY

In my teaching career, I've been called:
Mom
Dad
Grandma
Teacher
(Every time I was called "teacher",
I would say, "Yes, student?")
Mrs. Vance
Mrs. Olsen
Mrs. Thompson
Mrs. Beckstrand
Mrs. Dunn

Mrs. Mitchell
(Kids don't know the difference between
Miss and Mrs.)

I was really Miss Mitchell

AUNTIE ANN DAY

Mother's Day used to always be awkward to me.
Especially at church, when they would have
all the mothers stand up in church, to receive a flower.
Once, there was one deacon who tried to give
me a plant, even though I wasn't standing.
He said, "You must be a mother, you're old!"
I was all of 28.

I was even punished once for my feelings about
Mother's Day when Bishop Bagley made me
speak in Sacrament Meeting on Mother's Day,
about Mother's Day!

Now, our ward has every woman over 18
receive a gift.
I don't care anymore.
But, it's a great day when the nieces and nephews
come over with their families to visit Grandma Dixie.

Well, this year, what a surprise!
Cards for ME from Oakley and Ashley's kids,
declaring in was "Auntie Ann Day!"
I'll take it!!!

"Auntie Ann Day" should be a world holiday!
Or national, at the very least!!!

The bath salts were layered in a sundae cup.  A shower scrubber was placed on top, with a pom pom "cherry" placed on top.
A cute sun was hot glued to the straw.

MOTHER'S DAY PROJECT

For our end of month April activity, Kaden's mom came and helped to make a Mother's Day project! She took each of our pictures. Then, our head was the O in MOM. We decorated it, and put magnetic strips on the back so it would be a magnet. Thanks also to Elizabeth's mom for helping us with the project, too.
Congratulations to the top 5 qualifiers for the activity:
