RISE & SHOUT . . . LILY'S OUT

September 22 was Lily's
first time to "Rise & Shout!"
We went to the BYU vs McNeese State game.
Lily is 7, and she was GREAT to take!
She kept thanking me all during the
game for bringing her!

WOW!
Cathy's grandson, Sae, was one of the
alumni flag bearers!

Sae is on the right, in white.

Instead of a Cougar, like most of
the kids get at their first game,
Lily got this cute monkey!

Love to see touchdowns in my endzone!

Chillin' in her new
BYU shirt!

Nana Nina and Papa Davey were also at the game.
They were in one of the suites.
They moved to Payson last year, so
they took Lily home.

Lily had so much fun and was so
well behaved.
She'll definitely go again!

And so this happened.
It happened in the south end zone
(where most touchdowns happen, too).
I had no idea that it happened!

RISE & SHOUT . . . AND SHOUT, AND SHOUT!

One year ago, BYU hosted the top ranked
Wisconsin Badgers at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
Shayla and I went to the game.
We had a great time . . . all but that final score:
40-6

This year, the game was in Wisconsin.
Nobody, not anyone all all, expected BYU
to beat the #6 ranked Wisconsin Badgers,
except the BYU players and coaches!
Wisconsin's quarterback was even under consideration
for the Heisman trophy!!!

BYU was ahead 24-21, with time running out.
Wisconsin got into field goal range.
The kicker was a 5th year senior.
(This means he redshirted one year, and
had another year of eligibility.
CJ did this when he played basketball
for Washington.)
He never misses.
Coach Sitake called a time out to
 "ice" (make nervous) the kicker.
Then, he called another one.
He was willing to go for the tie, and
into overtime.

You can tell by the BYU player on the ground,
that it was no good.
Not just barely a miss, but a HUGE miss!

This came up on my phone:

The BYU team was ecstatic!
Last year, we only had 4 wins the
ENTIRE SEASON!!!
First losing season in my LIFETIME!
First losing season since 1955!

Fans came out to greet the team
at the Provo airport!

This came up on my phone on Sunday:
