MEGAN

Renae's granddaughter turned 2 on
January 15.
I can't ever get to Ethan's parties, because they're
always held the 2nd Saturday of December.
That is ADK and Dance Recital.

Megan had a Care Bear party.
They best part was that the Care Bears in Renae's
kindergarten classroom were made by Megan's dad, Jared.

These pictures were of the Halloween when Jared
dressed as a Care Bear for Halloween.
 With cousins

Ethan & Megan are soooo lucky in the
grandparent department!

Everyone wore Care Bear accessories

Breanna is soooo talented!

ETHAN'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Ethan Reese, Renae & Robert's grandson,
turned 2 on December 22.
On December 12, we celebrated his birthday.
His mom is a party planner, just like Renae!
The theme of the party was "Mickey Mouse."

And this is why we've been best friends for over 50 years!
I can't compete.
Never have.
Never will.
So, I don't even try.
Renae always was over the top!
Her writing was better.
Coloring was better.
Not to mention Halloween!
When she taught kindergarten, she had a new theme
every year.  Every bulletin board was different.
I would take pictures of mine, and put them in a book.
I could pull it out, hand it to kids, and they would put it up.

Here's outside

Now, snowman broke.
Wreath is too big for screen door.
We have a small door hangar, a cute shovel,
and in the year, a sign that says,
SANTA STOP HERE FIRST.

But, we like to say, less is more.

AEA RETIREMENT DINNER

THE ALPINE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (AEA) IS PART OF THE
UTAH EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (UEA) AND THE
NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (NEA).
I WAS THE FACULTY REP FOR MY SCHOOL FROM
1984-1986 AND 1989-2013.
I LOVED BEING A REP!
EVERY YEAR, THEY HAVE A DINNER FOR ALL OF THE
AEA MEMBERS WHO ARE RETIRING.
I WENT TO SEVERAL OF THEM AS THE REP.
IT WAS NOT PUBLIC THAT I WAS RETIRING ON THE
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL LAST YEAR, SO I WAS NOT INCLUDED.
I WAS AT THAT DINNER WITH HEIDI.
MIKE GOWANS, AEA PRESIDENT, WAS SO GREAT TO
INVOLVE ME WITH THIS YEAR'S CELEBRATION.

ETHAN JARED REESE

 On May 15, 2009,
Jared married Whitni Nisson.
Jared is the only child of my
best friend of 50 years, Renae.

I loved their wedding, because they were married
in the St. George Temple.
We stayed with Heidi and Mike, (they were married the July before, and were going to school at my Alma Mater, Dixie!)
and celebrated Mike's birthday.
I took 2 days off from school,
and missed the dance festival!
Woohoo!!!

Jared and Whitni met at Utah State.
Whitni is from St. George.
She is friends with Karen's older girls
and Eric, and is Heather's age.
She was a dietician, and also a Seminary teacher.

Whitni was soooo excited for their 1st Christmas!
She wanted to do the
"12 Days of Christmas."
The gift for the number 2 was
"2 Jazz tickets!"
They sat in my Jazz seats.

The next May, Whitni suffered a miscarriage
on Mother's Day.
In June, Whtni and Jared took a trip to where
she served her mission in Switzerland.

Their 2nd Christmas was soooo different
from their 1st.
Whitni was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer,
right around Christmas.

In March, we headed to St. George.
They had a fundraiser for her.
I went to it with Karen and her family.

In June, Jared and Whitni went on one
last trip to Disneyland.

In September, 2011,
9 months after her diagnosis,
Whitni lost her battle.
They were married only 16 months.

Whitni and Jared were living in Roswell, New Mexico.
She returned home to St. George,
where she passed away.

In December, 2011, Jared was up for Christmas.
I took him to a Jazz game.
He then went to St. George,
visiting Whit's family.  Renae, Rob, and I
met up with him for breakfast on our way to the
Tournament of Roses Parade.

A few months later, Jared was transferred
to Price, Utah.  He works for the
Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

In August, 2012, Jared was invited to his friends
for a barbeque.  They had invited Breanna, who was their neighbor.
Breanna was a chemotherapy nurse.
They hit it off right away,
were engaged on December 22,
and married March 13, 2013, in the
Mt. Timpanogos Temple.

Breanna and Jared were soon expecting,
and on December 22, 2013...exactly one year
to the date of their engagement,
Ethan Jared Reese was born!

Proud daddy

Isn't this the most precious picture???

 ...And baby makes 3!

New parents.

On March 2, I went to Ethan's blessing in Price.

 First time grandparents!

 Four generations...
Ethan, Jared, Rob, and Nancy

 Brayden, Whitley, and McKell with
Dale's great granddaughter!
Dale is their Grandpa Jay and Renae's brother.
Grandpa Jay with his favorite student,
Whitley, left. Her sister McKell.
Jay is Renae's brother, and was
in my ward and my high school biology teacher.
He retired, and started teaching on "A" days.
Whitley wanted her grandpa to teach her.
This is his last year.

Photobombed by Whitley.

Jared, Auntie Ann, and Ethan.

 Ethan is sooo cute!
This is St. Patrick's Day.
He looks just like his father did as a baby in 1980!!!
