SCIENCE FAIR 2010

Mitch found out what happens when you combine vinegar and baking soda.

Andrew taught us which price was right...depending on the store and the state.

Beware when you buy Orville Redenbacher popcorn! It leaves the most unpopped kernels! We learned this from Justin.

Josh demonstrated about the flight of different types of paper airplanes. Check out those great planes!

Heavy vs Light...Who Goes Fastest? Avery did her project about sledding.

Dakota and his partner wanted to know if the higher the elevation of the ballpark, can you hit better? They found out that elevation did not make a difference. In human beings, however, Miss Mitchell has observed at BYU football games and Jazz games---that the players not used to the higher elevation, spend a lot of time bent over at the waist, trying to get more oxygen!

Coral and Sofy wanted to know which temperature of popcorn kernels pops the most kernels.

Spencer and McKay were finding out what affects the speed of a sled.

WHO ARE THE TWINS IN OUR CLASS?

Spencer and McKay (above)?

OR

Elizabeth and Savannah (below)?

Elizabeth and Savannah taught us about the human eye having blind spots.

OUR TWINS?

THE BOYS --- Spencer and McKay!

Miss Mitchell has always thought since Day #1 that Savannah and Elizabeth looked like twins!

Hayden's project was on which soil keeps a plant from freezing.

Mandy, unfortunately, was home sick for the Science Fair. But, she still participated...and even won Honorable Mention! MANDY did CANDY (Get it? It rhymes!) in Your Stomach! The best place for it to be!!!

"Which Gum Keeps its Flavor the Longest?" Logan found out that the gum with the least color has the most flavor! Remember that the next time you go gum shopping!

Carissa' project was very popular! "What Gum Keeps It's Flavor the Longest?" Extra kept it's flavor the longest! Check out the gumball machine! But Miss Mitchell's biggest question is why Dr. Stucki, a dentist, is pictured blowing bubble gum! hmmmm

Thomas's question was, "Do Things Warm Up or Cool Down to 72 Degrees Faster?"

A very important thing to know, was taught to us by Faith! "Does Fire Retardant Material Really Burn Slower Than Untreated Material?"

A rectangular parachute is the best type, according to Zach's findings!

Heather---"Does Elevation Affect Air Quality?"

WE LOVE OUR PARENTS! We are so thankful for our parents who helped us in the Science Fair! Heather's dad helped by taking her to meet with people about air quality, and to different places to get those fabulous, yet icky, pictures of inversions!

Rainey and his partner taught us about why rockets need fins.

Rachel and her project, "What Sugar Causes Bread to Rise the Highest?"

Eric taught us about how environmental factors influence the growth of potato mold.
