CLASS OF 2014

2014
Graduated Kiddos
(I tried to find 2014 graduates...but, with no
class pictures...can only remember a few)
Laurel & Maddie (James) Jones
Laurel's mother died before she was in 5th grade.
Her dad married Maddie's mom.
So, in my class, they were stepsisters.
In 6th grade, Laurel's dad died suddenly.
She was literally an "orphan."
Laurel's step mom (Maddie's mom), has raised her.
Maddie's dad lives in California.
She went often to visit.
I've noticed on Facebook that Maddie now goes
by the last name of Jones.

danced at growing up.
I also worked at the temple with the owners.
Grandma Dixie generously pays for all the lessons,
and I pay for all the costumes.
It's a great highlight two times a year to

SEVEN PEAKS

I SPENT THE ENTIRE SUMMER LAST YEAR
BEING LAID UP WITH ALL OF THE BROKEN
BONES IN MY FOOT.
MY FAMILY ALL HAD
"THE PASS OF ALL PASSES",
WHICH MADE SEVEN PEAKS FREE.

FOR CHRISTMAS, I GOT ALL THE KIDS
THE PASS, AND I GOT ONE, TOO!

ON JUNE 4, SEVERAL OF US WENT.
LAUREL, ASHLEY, KATIE, JAYCIE,
CAMRY, PRESTON, AND ADDIE.

SEVEN PEAKS WAS BUILT IN THE 80s.
THE MAN WHO CREATED IT WAS THE
FATHER OF MY FORMER STUDENT,
ASHNA BORCHARDS.
WHEN ASHNA WAS IN MY CLASS, SHE WAS
ON BILLBOARDS FOR SEVEN PEAKS.
SHE IS NOW A BIG WIG AT DISNEYLAND!

THE PARK LOOKS ABOUT THE SAME, WITH
A FEW NEW SLIDES.
THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE?
TATOOS!!!
ALMOST EVERY WOMAN HAD A TINY BIKINI
ON, AND MANY TATOOS!
CRAZY HOW SOCIETY CHANGES!!!

SAM

Sam Payne was in my second class...1981-1982.
His dad, Marvin Payne, is an LDS author,
Education Week speaker,
musician, actor, etc.
He played the father in the play and movie,
"Saturday's Warrior."

Sam is an entertainer, too.
This was his concert, June 3.
It was part of the American Fork Arts Concert Series,
and was held at the Amphitheater.

Sam introducing his favorite 5th grade teacher!
I'm sitting by Jeff Shorter.
He is a city councilman, over the arts.
He was my bishop.

Sam is the principal of the
Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts.

AAAAWWWW . . . THE GOOD OL' DAYS

THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN IN 1989.
WE HAD A FAMILY NIGHT AT SCHOOL FOR PICTURES,
AND I WAS TOTALLY IN!
I WANTED A JAZZ PICTURE!!!
I BOUGHT EACH OF THE KIDS A NEW SHIRT.
OF COURSE, I DID THE "80s BANGS!"
EXCEPT, AFTER I DID CAMILLE'S, SHE WET THEM DOWN.
I HAD TO BLOW DRY THEM, AND REDO IT!
BUT, DON'T YOU LOVE HER 3 BRAIDS, WITH A JAZZ COLOR
AT THE END OF EACH ONE???

ALWAYS, FOREVER, AND NO MATTER WHAT

MEMORIAL DAY . . . NEPHI

For years, we have spent either the Sunday or the Saturday
before Memorial Day at my Grandma's in Nephi.
Grandma was the oldest of 6 children...5 girls and 1 boy.
When it got to be too big to meet at her house,  we moved
to the park on Main Street.
We usually had 4-6 of Grandma's siblings, plus their
children and grandchildren.
One by one, beginning with my grandma in 2000, they all
passed away.
Now the only ones that come is my mom and some of her family
(this year...mom, me, Reid, Laurel, Ashley and kids, McKay & Lori
and kids, Heidi & Mike and kids, and Katie);
Uncle Mac's 2 children...Kent and Carolee, their spouses, and some children;
Aunt Effie's son, Gordon & Sherri, and family.

We picked up Cole on the way down to help
