CIVIL WAR

During our study of the Civil War,
We did reading projects for Civil War books that we read.

SWEET CLARA AND THE FREEDOM QUILT
Brigham, Abby S., Josh, Callie, and Brasher
As part of their project, they made a "freedom quilt."

THE BOY WHO LOOKED LIKE ABRAHAM LINCOLN
Cache, Rebecca, and Hazel
Their project was a giant...
(I don't know what they're called, but depending on what you pick,
they count as they open it until you get to the next one.)

MARCHING TO APPOMATTOX
Meilan, Abby C., Calvin, and Andrew
made a poster about the surrender

LINCOLN'S TEN SENTENCES
 Kinlee, Max, Alicia, Cole,and Rose
Their project was a giant "stove top hat"
with the Gettysburg Address on it.
This book is an excellent grammar lesson!

ABE'S HONEST WORDS
Taylor, Mary, Audrey, and Tammy
made a life size Abe Lincoln

 CHILDREN'S CLOTHING OF THE 1800S
Adah, Hannah L., Gabe, Ethan, and Hannah S.
made a pyramid and a poster of what clothing
for children was like during the 1800s.

THE SILENT WITNESS
Lauren and Megan (Leslie was absent)
read a book about a doll who was a witness to the
Civil War.  Quilts were also made in the story, and these
girls made 3-D quilt pieces.

PINK AND SAY
 Jaylee, Kennedy, Avry, and Dallin
made a pyramid about this classic
Patricia Polocco book.
