LILY'S BABTISM

"THE NEW NORMAL"

The words, "New Normal" are being frequently
passed around since March 13, the
beginning of the pandemic, Corona Virus.
"Covid-19" is the scientific name.
Co for Corona, vi for virus,
d for disease, and 19 for 2019, the year
the virus first appeared.

The virus originated in China, like most
of the viruses in this century.  Bleh.

Lily decided it was time to be baptized.
But, a huuuuge change:
only 10 people could go!
Mom
Dad
Brother
Sister
All 4 grandparents
Bishopric member
Lily

Grandma Dixie & I went to Genola
the day before.
I had a baptism bracelet for her,
and I wanted her to be able to wear it.

Also, we took her birthday present
that day, to save a trip two days later.

Lily tried on her baptism dress for us.
The dress was $10, and the jacket was $5.
WalMart for the win!!!

Another "new normal"

Birthday present from Aunt Ann.

Doing the baptism like this . . .
you have to fill and empty the baptismal font,
and clean it out.

Before the baptism, Cole was ordained
a priest, and was able to baptize his
little sister.
Lily's dad and Papa Reid were the witnesses.

Another part of the "new normal",
everyone got on "Zoom" and we were able
to watch the baptism on our phones.
They didn't start until all family were
checked in.
We could watch the baptism, but not
the confirmation.
The baptism could not be recorded.
Papa Davey confirmed Lily.

Papa Davey & Nana Nina, McKay & Lori,
Lily, Cole,Grandma Laurel,
Haley, and Papa Reid.

And that's the baptism
"new normal."
