WELCOME TO THE HALL OF FAME!

Four former NBA players were inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame. David Robinson...San Antonio Spurs...Michael Jordan...Chicago Bull and Washington Wizards...Jerry Sloan...Chicago Bulls and Coach of the Utah Jazz since 1988...John Stockton...Utah Jazz. All four men have the greatest of work ethics!

Jerry Sloan had to help on the family farm in Illinois with 9 siblings after his father passed away. It was decided that he could play basketball, but the practices were held before and after school. He had no way to get there. After farm chores, he hitchhiked 8 miles to school. After practice, he hitchhiked 8 miles back home and completed farm chores and homework before bed.

John Stockton thought he would only play in the NBA for one year. He rented a 1 bedroom apartment that was already furnished. He had no TV. He ate lots of canned chili and tuna. When on the road that first year, he ate sparingly, and hoarded the meal money. He played for 18 seasons with the Utah Jazz and was a member of 2 USA Olympic teams!

RISE & SHOUT! THE COUGARS ARE BACK OUT!!!

RISE & SHOUT! THE COUGARS ARE BACK OUT!!! ... and, in a big way! The BYU Cougars beat #3 ranked Oklahoma 14-13. The game was played at the Dallas Cowboys brand new stadium in Arlington, Texas. (The largest enclosed stadium in the whole wide world! The cost was over 1 billion dollars for the new stadium!) Mr. Stephenson's nephew, Reiley Stephenson, is the punter for the Cougars! He even punted one time inside the Oklahoma 1 yard line!!!

So, I thought I would include these cute pictures. This is my bear from Build-A-Bear...Annie. She has lots of holiday clothes, but come September, she's a BYU bear!!! The football was my favorite gift last year for "Teacher Appreciation Week!" Tyson, one of my students from last year, gave it to me!

Harvey Unga

I'm sure this is the only autograph that Max Hall has made for a "Miss Mitchell!"

THE FUNKY RELAY!

We had a really funky relay! We had to put a beanbag between our feet, and pass it over our head to the next person. They had to get it between their feet, and pass over their head, and so on. No hands could be used. In one of the relays, when we got to the end of the row, we had to twirl around and pass it back down the row! It was really intense!!!
