CHRISTMAS AT MISS MITCHELL'S

Believe it or not, a teacher does have a life outside of the classroom.

They go to movies, grocery stores, Jazz games, and have families to celebrate Christmas with!

My niece, Ashley (on chair), her daughter, Addie, and my niece, Heidi (expecting 1st in May).

We played fun Christmas games...

Everyone (except Katie...who slept over) returns to their homes, put out cookies and milk for Santa, and carrots for his reindeer.


After seeing what Santa brought...they come back over for a HUGE breakfast!

SYD S. IS 11!

On January 3, Syd S. turned 11!  Syd has 3 brothers and 1 sister...and is the middle child.  Lime green, purple, and orange are her favorite colors.  Playing the piano, soccer, tether ball, and dance are her favorite hobbies.
Favorite vacations have been to Hawaii, Disneyland, Lake Powell, and Las Vegas!  Syd is also a BIG University of Utah fan!  She especially loves to wear her "Ute" clothing!

MAREN'S BIG DAY!

On December 23, Maren turned 11!  She has 2 brothers and 1 sister...and is the middle child.  Her brother, Ryan, was a student in miss Mitchell's class.  Maren's favorite colors are blue and yellow, and favorite treat is potstickers.

Maren plays the piano, and is on the "Dominators" basketball team and the "Geckos" soccer team.  Favorite vacations have been to:  Yellowstone; Mt. Rushmore; Devil's Tower; Sheridan & Cody Wyoming; New York City and Washington D.C.

Favorite subjects are:  history, art, P.E., reading, and writing.

Maren's favorite hobby is learning about the great Indian, Sacagawea!  She knows as much about her as many of the teachers in Miss Mitchell's history class!  One of the best Christmas presents I have ever received from a student is a book about Sacagawea...written and illustrated by Maren!

Our end-of- month activity was based on the song

POM POM PILLOWS!

We learned how to make pillows the way the people did in Colonial America (sort of)

 Wrapping the yarn on the frame was very easy!
