ONCE AGAIN, NO ONE LISTENS TO ME

SOOOO EXCITED TO SEE FORMER STUDENT,
LINZEY DAUGHERTY!
SHE'S NOW A SENIOR, AND SO TALL!

OH LOOK, IT'S ALAN, THE GUY WITH THE MICROPHONE

THE GIRL ACROSS THE AISLE WAS PICKED
TO PLAY "PRESS YOUR LUCK"
A LIGHT GOES AROUND THE BORDER.
THE PERSON SAYS, "STOP."
WHATEVER IT LANDS ON, THAT'S WHAT YOU WIN.
IF IT LANDS ON BEAR, YOU LOSE EVERYTHING.
THE FIRST SPIN, SHE WON $250.
I YELLED FOR HER TO STOP...TO NOT GO ON.
SHE WENT ON.
AND OF COURSE, LOST THE $250.
SHE KEPT PLAYING, AND WON $40...$210 LESS
BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME!

AS A SIDE NOTE . . .
DAVID STEPHENSON, MY PRINCIPAL FOR 8 YEARS, AND MY FAVORITE,
WAS AT THE GAME.
HE POINTED OUT THAT THE BALD GUY IN THE RED SHIRT
IS THE NEW SUPERINTENDENT OF ALPINE SCHOOL DISTRICT.
HE LATER INTRODUCED HIM TO ME.

NEW AT BYU

BRONCO MENDENHALL IS NOW THE HEAD FOOTBALL COACH
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA.
ROBERT ANAE IS THE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR.
ANAE CHOSE 5 OF THE BYU COACHES THAT WORK
WITH THE OFFENSE TO GO WITH THEM.

FINDING A HEAD COACH FOR ANY BYU SPORT HAS
ONE LITTLE REQUIREMENT THAT NO OTHER COLLEGE HAS:
THE HEAD COACH MUST NOT ONLY BE LDS, BUT,
A CURRENT TEMPLE RECOMMEND HOLDER.
OTHER COACHES CAN EVEN BE NON MEMBERS.
(BYU IDAHO & BYU HAWAII HAVE DROPPED SPORTS)

FIRST, BYU WENT AFTER THE HEAD COACH AT NAVY.
HE WAS IN A SEGMENT OF
"MEET THE MORMONS."
HE RUNS THE TRIPLE OPTION.
NOT COMPATIBLE TO TANNER MANGUM.

INTRODUCING:

 HEAD COACH
BYU PLAYER, COACHED AT UTAH STATE, UTAH,
DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR AT OREGON STATE

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR & QUARTERBACK COACH
BYU QUARTERBACK, HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER,
COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME
14 YEARS NFL, HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR
PLAYED HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL DOWN THE STREET FROM
LAVELL EDWARDS STADIUM AT TIMPVIEW HIGH SCHOOL.
PLAYED COLLEGE BALL AT SNOW AND SOUTHERN UTAH.
COACHED AT UTAH STATE, UTAH, AND OREGON STATE.
FIRST COACH NOMINATED FOR THE
"TOP ASSISTANT COLLEGE COACH" IN THE NATION...THAT
WAS NOT A COORDINATOR

ASSISTANT HEAD COACH
PLAYED FOOTBALL FOR BYU.  COACHED AT IDAHO, SAN DIEGO,
AND UNIVERSITY OF REDLANDS.  CURRENTLY HEAD COACH
AT SOUTHERN UTAH FOR 8 YEARS.
NOT LDS, BUT ATTENDS CHURCH, AND HAS HELD
CALLS IN SCOUTING.

TO BE CONTINUED . . .

A CHRISTMAS CARD TO REMEMBER

My feet.
Terrible!
I was diagnosed with neuropathy in 2000.
It is a complication of diabetes.
My feet are numb.
But, I'm in terrible pain if I don't take
my Gabapentin on time!
I have to have my nails cut every 9 weeks
by the foot doctor.
I've had terrible blisters after trips, like NYC.
After the Rose Parade trip, 3 toes on my right foot had
blistered down to the tissue!
I spent 12 weeks at the foot doctor!
He was putting the foreskin from baby boy circumcisions
on the 3 toes.  It attaches and GROWS!
Then, the Charcot Foot diagnoses that led to my retirement.
The partially torn Achilles tendon was my birthday
present this year...BLEH!
I never blogged about this while I was teaching,
but I have since my retirement.
Well, on Sunday, December 20, I noticed that
my big left toe was gray!
Thank goodness I had an appointment to
check my Achilles the next day!!!
Heidi and Katie, my personal nurses, saw the picture.
 Both said it was infected.
I had my foot x-rayed.
Surprise, surprise...it was broken!
I have no idea how it happened...because I can't feel it!
He also took my nail off.
Didn't need a shot...cuz I can't feel it!

I decided to make this little Christmas card
to send to the nieces and nephews
(except Camille, who is 8 months pregnant)
It's to the tune
Deck The Halls

I decided to post this, cuz no one
reads my blog except me,
so no one can be grossed out!

MEANWHILE, AROUND THE HOOD . . .

I have LOVED seeing the BYU signs and flags
for the past 4 years!
Ryker Mathews is an offensive lineman.
This was his last game!
He is graduating in January, and will give the NFL a try.
His mom and step father live here.

Hail to the rivalry.
The flag says "House Divided."

Utah scored 35 points in quarter 1.
They never scored again!
BYU scored 28 points.
A great comeback . . . 1 touchdown short!

See you in September, Utah!

NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

On Saturday, December 20,
our ADK chapter went and saw this:

I love going to the Desert Star Theater!
It is ALWAYS hysterically funny!!!

IT'S THE FA.LA.LA.LA.LA.ING WEEK . . . PART 2

ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19,
I WENT TO GOSHEN ELEMENTARY
FOR COLE AND HALEY'S CHRISTMAS SING.

HOWEVER, THIS WAS THE START OF THE JOURNEY.
I-15 AT PLEASANT GROVE BOULEVARD.

I MADE IT JUST IN TIME
FOR A SELFIE WITH LILY.

HALEY

I SPY A COUGAR!

TEACH THEM YOUNG, I SAY!
COLE WEARING A BYU HOODIE THAT AUNT ANN BOUGHT.

I JUST LOVE HOW THE ENTIRE SCHOOL AND
COMMUNITY CAN FIT IN THE GYM!!!
THE ENTIRE SCHOOL SINGING,
"I WANNA . . . HOT CUP OF COCOA."
