TEN VIRGINS

The Stake Relief Society
needs to have at least one
activity per year for the
sisters in the stake.

On Sunday, February 26, the
Stake Relief Society presented
"The Ten Virgins."

It was done as a musical
about the parable in the Bible.
(We were able to pay for
it through Deseret Book)

Each sister was PERFECT for her part!

This is the invitation and poster
I had made up.
Phil Chadwick took the words,
and attached this picture to it...and
sent it to the printer.
The poster hung in every Relief Society and
Young Women's room.

It was also sent out as an invitation
to every Relief Society President
three times . . . every other week.
They could forward it to all of
their sisters.
It was also in every ward bulletin
and announced in Relief Society
every week for 6 weeks.

Here is the program I made.
Beware . . . there are a TON
of pictures!
I put them all on here in case
any of the sisters involved
would like a copy.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS . . . CARTER

"Battle of the Books"
started in my school my last year of teaching.
Students had to read 20 books.
They were put in "teams" and "battled"
other teams.
Then, the final 2 teams competed in front of the their
grades (5th vs 6th in front of only 5th and 6th)
The "battles" were asking questions about the books.
I had a team from my class that won the
5th grade, and took 2nd place to the 6th grade.
In my first year of retirement, that same
team won in 6th grade!

My great nieces and nephews have been
participating at Sage Hills.
Carter was on the winning 1st grade team.
They competed against the winning 2nd grade team.
He was the team captain, the team member
that answered for the team.
His team lost by one question.

The medal is for reading all 20 books
for the competition.
The trophy is for winning 2nd place.

TEAM PHOTO

Russell Westbrook of the
Oklahoma City Thunder
has been on FIRE since
Kevin Durrant left for greener pastures
at Golden State.

Westbrook already has 30 triple doubles this year alone!
That's as many as Michael Jordan had in
his entire career!!!

Yup.  Westbrook does it all!

KINDY 500

WHAT DO YOU DO IN KINDERGARTEN
IN GENOLA?

WHY, YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE
"KINDY 500", OF COURSE!

LILY'S CAR WAS "FROZEN."
HAHAHA
NOT SURPRISED!

CLOGGING COMPETION

Haley & Lily have been involved with clogging
since they  moved to Genola.
Because, just like country music,
that's what you do in Genola.

They competed in a competition on
March 4th.

Haley placed 2nd in each of her 4 solos!
She also had two 1st places with her team!

Haley is 9, and in the 3rd grade.

Lily took 1st place in each of her
4 solos!
She also received
"Outstanding Clogging Studio!"

Lily will be 6 next month,
and is in Kindergarten.

WEATHER IN UTAH

Last week, we were in the high 60's.
Today, tons of wind and snow.
Temperature will be from low 20's to high 50's this week.

Yup.
Weather in Utah.

ZERO FATALITIES AT THE SUPER BOWL

UDOT sponsored a contest to make a commercial
about safe driving.
Amy Miller created this about not wearing seat belts,
crashing, and being zipped up in a body bag.

Amy's friend, Lauren Hall, was the girl
who narrated it, and was zipped into the bag.

I taught both of Lauren's brothers.
She also was involved with the luncheon for
Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.
One year, Lauren sat next to me for an
entire BYU football season!

The winning commercial was seen during
the Super Bowl pregame show, regionally during
the Super Bowl, and also during the
State Basketball Finals with Lone Peak vs Bingham.

SUPER BOWL LI

THE

BEAT THE

34 -28  OT
(first ever OT in a Super Bowl!)

First, it was a 25 point lead by Atlanta:
28-3 with 8:31 in the 3rd quarter.

Then, 28-9
28-12
28-20
28-28

Overtime in college is perfect.
With the coin toss, you want to go second,
so you can see what the other team did.
Each team starts with their ball on the
25 yard line.  Four downs.
Then, the other team goes.
If it's tied at the end of first overtime,
the team that went second now goes first.
This continues until a winner is declared.

In the pros, it's sudden death.
First one to score wins.
So, New England won the coin toss,
and they marched down the field and scored.

Never underestimate Tom Brady!
He has played in 7 Super Bowls!
Record?
5-2
BEST RECORD EVER!!!

Former BYU Cougar,
Kyle Van Noy,
was in his 2nd year of playing
for the Detroit Lions, when he was traded.
PERFECT TIMING!

AND OF COURSE,
A LITTLE LOL!
