I LOVE TO SEE THE (OGDEN) TEMPLE

Two years ago, the Brigham City Temple had their open house and dedication.
I didn't make it to the open house.  It was in August, right when it was
time to get ready for school.  (I didn't know it then...but it was to be my last year.)
I thought, "Oh well.  I'll just go as a patron!"
Easier said that done!!!
You have to make an appointment.  That's hard to do...when they don't answer the phone!
One of the ADK sisters said her sister makes reservations, and to call
at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesdays.
Nope.  No answer.  I called three times while driving all of the way up, with
no answer.  I continued to Logan.
My ADK sister said a patron can make three appointments ahead of time
when they leave.
That seems to me like it's an exclusive club!!!

Anyway . . .
This is the original Ogden Temple.
Dedicated in 1972.
A twin temple to the Provo Temple.

They needed to upgrade both temples.
For the last three or four years, every time the Provo Temple closes,
they close for 6-7 weeks.
(The shortest time to not rededicate it.)
They work on the earthquake upgrades, etc. during this time.

The Odgen Temple was just torn down and rebuilt.
Not that many patrons went there.
And very few were married there.
I liked to go there, because it wasn't crowded!
I went 2-3 times a year.

Provo basically can't close down . . . 6 letters:  MTC and BYU.
Many people think when the Provo City Center and the Payson Temples open,
they'll rebuild Provo.
Those two new temples will be like Brigham City...you can't get in!

Anyway, mom wanted to go to the open house.
I asked Ashley if her family wanted to go.
I also got Laurel and Katie a ticket.
Laurel ended up going to Ely with Reid, and Katie had to work.
Ashley called Camille to see if Shayla could go with us.
We all went in Ashley's van, and picked up Shayla on the way.

Here are some pictures of the interior I got off the internet:

 Baptistry

 Recommend Desk

Lobby behind Recommend Desk

Endowment Room
Lots of stained glass with Desert Roses

Sealing Room

Celestial Room
This was the best room!
There is usually a chandelier in the middle of the Celestial Room.
This had a huge dome in the middle.
Long chandeliers hung on the sides.
But, the gold on each side of the entrance, and at the far end at the exit
are some pretty sweeeet lights!!!

Beautiful windows at end of tour.

 Love these kiddos!

 With Jaycie and Shayla

With the cute boy who dunked his head in the fountain!

When we were leaving, Preston said he wanted to go to McDonald's.
Shayla said we needed to go somewhere fancy, because we were dressed fancy!
Everyone but Preston agreed!
We went to Texas Roadhouse in South Ogden.
Katie took us there last year.

This was drawn on their floor!

Not sure what was up with Preston is some of these pictures.
We sure had a great time!!!
