Don Beckstrand started teaching at Alpine Elementary in 1984.
He taught 4th, 5th, and 6th.
He's been such a great friend forever!
Don was a bishop at one time.
His wife, Marlene, was extremely sick, and she had to quit teaching.
She passed away almost 3 years ago.
And then, he became the most eligible catch in Utah County!
It started with my aide, he had been set up by her in-laws.
(Her husband was killed in an avalanche.)
They had talked marriage, and had been ring shopping.
Then, she bolted to Boise!
He went back to her 2 or 3 times.
He had a relationship with my former teammate, Teri Michals.
I have never seen anyone date sooooo much!
He would have me look at pictures, and ask my opinion.
(What do I know???)
One woman was by his side at our retirement open house.
It seemed like a wedding reception!
He broke it off in August...thank goodness!!!
She met someone shortly after, and eloped to Hawaii by
the middle of October!!!
Anyway, Don was set up with Paige in November,
and they are getting married April 18.
Hallelujah!!!
(She's been divorced, and widowed. One child killed, one
surviving child...married.)
