END OF AN ERA

WHEN I WAS LITTLE, THE CORNER OF
STATE STREET AND 500 EAST WAS
ARCTIC CIRCLE.

BESIDES THE PRICES,
CHECK OUT "SEABURGER!"
(LOVED THEM!  BUT, THE HI-SPOT MADE
THE BEST SEABURGERS!)

THEN, THE PARKER FAMILY, BOUGHT IT.
LEE & LILLIAN PARKER.
CINDY, TAMMY, AND OTHER SIBLINGS.
EVERYONE WENT HERE!
BEST FOOD IN TOWN!!!
SUMMER EVENING HANGOUT!
AT THE ARCTIC CIRCLE, YOU ORDERED FROM AN
OUTSIDE WINDOW.
PARKER'S ADDED AN AREA WHERE YOU COULD
GET OUT OF THE ELEMENTS.
SEATING WAS OUTSIDE, ON PICNIC TABLES.
IT WASN'T VERY BIG, BUT EVERYONE CAME!

THEN, LEE PASSED AWAY.
WHEN AMERICAN FORK MADE THE LAW THAT
ALL BUSINESSES HAD TO PAY FOR THE NEW
"GRAY WATER"  (THE REASON MOST ROADS
IN AF HAVE THAT BIG STRIP), LILLIAN COULDN'T
AFFORD IT.  SHE HAD NOTHING OUTSIDE TO EVEN WATER!

CLOSED.
HARD TO SEE IT SITTING EMPTY.
BUT, IT WAS THERE.

AND THEN, ON FEBRUARY 9,
THE UNTHINKABLE HAPPENED!

THERE'S SUPPOSED TO BE A STARBUCKS GO ON THAT
PRIME PROPERTY.

PROGRESS.

NOT ALWAYS WORTH IT!
